Sustainable Agriculture
WNI-Austria is empowering hundreds of locals on an island of Indonesia, through our educational initiative called the Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Development (ISAD). We are focusing on agriculture because agriculture is the basis of most parts of rural Indonesia. The locals still import their basic food needs, though, which worsens and spreads the poverty on the island. To tackle this huge issue, ISAD aims to become the local place for research and knowledge-sharing regarding agricultural educational training, technical assistance, and healthcare access to improve the livelihoods of the local small farmers. The students choose their preferred agriculture-related trade, vocation, or profession, and we teach them the related skills and know-how.
The Institute for Sustainability and Agricultural Development (ISAD) is a long-term project that aims to fight hunger and poverty through sustainable agriculture, food security innovation, education, and technology adaptation. It was founded in 2015, and was officially recognized by the local government in 2020.

Since 2015, the institute has had more than 100 full-time students. They are provided room and board, and healthy living conditions.

After choosing their preferred course of study in agriculture and community business solutions, the students are trained in agriculture, community healthcare, community business solutions, English, computer skills, and teaching.
